About JAB

Started by Marc Roberge and Joseph Cushing in early 2010, JustAddBeer was born from our passion for all things beer. There is a distinction between the average beer drinker and the beer “lover”. A beer drinker is a person who enjoys the occasional beer or partakes in binges without much concern for the type, brand or history of the beer. A beer “lover”, although similar in nature, actually does care about a beer’s breeding and, while perhaps not a connoisseur, enjoys exploring different types and styles of beer, beer and food pairings and heritage.

We are not connoisseurs. Neither are we brewmasters, tasters or any other type of beer “expert”. We are average schmoes that happen to love beer and wanted to create a site where other average beer lovers could gather, discover and discuss – beer! This is not a beer review site – although we may occasionally post reviews – as there are other sites such as ratebeer.com and beeradvocate.com that do this much better than we ever could. This site was built to gather and provide you with information on the history of beer, types of beer, beer kits and other beer related goodness because, in our frequent searches over the years to find a single source for good information and really cool beer products, there was none to be found.
